It's no joke. If you become a Secret Shopper, you CAN get a cheap flight.
And I did it in the summer. I flew from North America to Europe as a Secret Shopper and I got HALF off my plane ticket. I also received HALF off my return ticket as well. So, for my whole flight, I only paid half of the advertised price. And it wasn't that difficult to get a cheap flight. Let me share with you how YOU can take advantage of a great opportunity like this as well. I had been a Secret Shopper for a few years and knew that flight discounts were available. When I planned my trip to Europe, I decided to do some prep work and check out the site of the secret shopping company I'm affiliated with. On their website they showed their airline partner and the dates and cities of the available cheap flights. There were a number of options for dates that you can book in advance. There were also a bunch of cities in different countries the airline flies to. I found the perfect schedule available for me and told the secret shopping company I was interested in that assignment. It was really just a click of a button. I don't know how much it mattered that I had previous work experience with them as a Secret Shopper. With the number of assignments that are available, they would definitely take on a NEW Shopper. This is great for someone just getting started with secret shopping. The important thing is that you have to book your ticket through the secret shopping company. I was selected to partake in the evaluation of the flight and was provided with the list of questions ahead of time. In fact, these questions were even available to me, including the expectations for the assignment, and the pay, BEFORE I even applied for the position. On my flight, I was able to have the list of questions in front of me (I actually printed out the pages they had on the website and used this as reference). I then evaluated the customer service of the flight crew and the overall experience on the flight, and was able to circle my answers and jot down notes during the flight. The parts of the flight you are evaluating are broken up into 5 sections: 1. Boarding and Pre-Departure 2. Cabin Service 3. Cabin Crew 4. Cabin Environment 5. When Things Go Wrong (i.e. delay) 6. Descent and Arrival 7. Overall Experience A sample of questions from those categories above include: 1. Did the cabin crew greet customers in English and the route language? 2. Was a meal choice offered? 3. Were cabin crew wearing their jackets during boarding? 4. Were the lavatories clean, tidy, and well stocked? 5. Did cabin crew react professionally to customer complaints or issues? 6. Were seat belts, seat backs, and baggage items checked to ensure they were properly secured? 7. Please provide an overall rating for the cabin crew. Once you land to your destination, you have 3 days in which to submit your report online which includes 'Yes' and 'No' type questions and also sections for 'Notes' which provides a summary of your experience. You obviously want to have an accurate portrayal of the flight for your evaluation, thus it is important to remain attentive during boarding, upon arrival, and throughout the flight. You can sleep on your flight, as long as you capture all the sections that are required. You can also bring a travel partner with you. Depending upon the flight and the level of service booked, you could save up to $5000 off your travel bill! I had a great experience evaluating the flights and can't wait to do my next assignment and get another cheap flight. -Kat
